Scott has over thirty years of experience in the Commercial Insurance industry. He is President of Benchmark Insurance Group, Inc. and began his career with The Hartford in Houston where he was named outstanding Marketing Representative. He was a Certified Insurance Counselor and holds State licenses in property and casualty insurance, life insurance and risk management. Professional Service includes Texas Agents’ Representative to The Hartford Insurance Group, The St. Paul Insurance Group, Central Insurance, CNA Insurance and Northwestern National Insurance as well as past Chairperson of the Legislative Sub-Committee to review the Insurance Licensing Laws in Texas. He has served as a director of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas. Active in community service and the Methodist Church. Scott is especially interested in improving the future and has been involved as the President of the San Marcos Rotary Club; member of the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District Education Foundation, President of SWT Friends of the Fine Arts and a Boy Scout Leader. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

Jennifer Webb, ASCR

Jennifer Webb is a Commercial Account Manager for our Major Accounts Division. She has worked with Benchmark Insurance Group since 1998, beginning her career in the Life & Health Department. She has worked in our Commercial – Major Accounts Division since 2001. She holds Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designations in both Commercial Lines and Life & Health Insurance and is licensed in both Property & Casualty and Life & Health Insurance. Jennifer is currently President of The Heart of Texas AMS Users Group and oversees our in-house IT systems. As an Account Manager, she assists with questions regarding your policy, policy changes, certificates of insurance, billing questions, and other service needs. In her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Shawn Claiborne, ACSR

Shawn Claiborne is a Commercial Account Manager in our Business Accounts Division. She provides changes to your policy, certificates of insurance, billing questions and other service needs. She has worked at Benchmark Insurance Group since 2006 and holds the professional designation of Accredited Customer Service Representative. She is currently working on a Certified Account Manager designation and is licensed in Property & Casualty Insurance. In addition to work, Shawn volunteers with her Church on the Praise and Worship team, teaches Children’s Church and enjoys bird watching and photography as well as spending time with her husand and two sons.

Briana Reinertsen, ACSR

Briana Reinertsen is a Commercial Account Executive and handles new account sales and overall coordination of your Business insurance coverages. She has worked at Benchmark Insurance Group since 2002 and holds the Accredited Customer Service Representative designation. She is licensed in Property & Casualty Insurance. She enjoys working with her Church as a Regional Building Committee member; enjoys cooking and is married with two children.

Lilia Brooks is our Personal Account Manager. She provides changes to your policy, billing questions and other service needs. She has worked at Benchmark Insurance Group since 2000 and holds the professional designation of Accredited Customer Service Representative. She is licensed in Property & Casualty Insurance and she speaks Spanish. Lilia is married with two daughters and in her spare time enjoys working out and being outdoors.

Yvette (Candie) Walker

Candie Walker has been a part of the Benchmark Insurance Group team since 1994. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Southwest Texas State (now Texas State University – San Marcos) in Business Administration with a concentration in Management in 1982 and immediately started a career in insurance. Candie is our Personal Account Executive and works with clients on new Homeowners and Personal Automobile protection. She is licensed in Property and Casualty Insurance. In her spare time she volunteers at the local Crisis Pregnancy center, participates on the Board of Directors for the Hays County Food Bank and is an avid football fan. Candie’s hobbies are shopping, working out, reading and spending time with her husband, three children, and grandchildren.

Valeria Rodriguez, ACSR

She is licensed in Property & Casualty Insurance and holds the Accredited Customer Service Representative designation. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and volunteering at her Church.

Lanette Mueller Gips

Lanette Mueller Gips is the Director of Finance and Operations. She has been with Benchmark Insurance Group since 1990 and handles all financial matters, human resource functions, and insurance company and contract issues. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas – Austin. She is married with two grown sons, has very little free time; but when she does, it is spent on her south Texas ranch.

Jennifer Romero is our Administrative Assistant. She grew up in San Marcos and enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
